This January, I had my first solo travel to one of the best metropolitan cities in Asia- Tokyo. It was totally a fun experience to travel alone- I mean this is how you go out of your comfort zone and meet some locals. During my visit, I stayed at the very classy and modern Strings by Intercontinental Tokyo which was of heartwarming hospitality.
Sitting by the window and enjoying the beautiful city view in sunlight was probably my favourite activity.
The room as a whole was of a very clean design with sophisticated details. I love how the colour tone was very calm and pleasant.
My working desk was just by the window. During daytime, the whole room would be well pampered by some gentle sunlight. How lovely!
Then I had a Tapa-tizer dinner at the Dining Room. It was surprisingly good! I mean- I'm more the traditional Japanese food or traditional Western meal type of guy that I didn't have much expectation over something in the middle. But my Yōshoku (Western-style Japanese Food) experience here did change my mind and yes- it was amazing how Japanese has infused Western elements into their culinary creation!
A breakfast buffet at Strings' main dining room would be a perfect start to your day!
However, sometimes we might want to sleep til late, or for me, go for an in-room breakfast! Breakfast with such gorgeous view of Tokyo is always a good idea isn't it?!
My #Intercontinentallife experience at the Strings by Intercontinental was totally a great one- modern and polished interior, decent food quality, friendly hotel staff... I definitely look forward to visiting again!
