These days, staycation deals have been very popular in town- especially when you couldn’t fly out of town, you could at least explore more in town. So last weekend I had a stay with my family at the Renaissance Hong Kong.

Renaissance Hong Kong had been one of the most popular hotels for business, thanks to their prime location (They were right above the HKCEC and always full during the exhibition seasons). I have also read some good reviews about the hotel for being very business friendly. Despite the positive reviews on their functionality and easy access to business centres, I was wondering if I could enjoy as much for vacation. So here I was and we weren’t disappointed at all.

My family and I stayed at the Studio Suite which was newly renovated. As a business hotel, the design was modern yet not over the top. Renaissance Hong Kong also got an incredible harbour view facing the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It was also really cool to stay above the HKCEC- I mean I have never seen the top of HKCEC hahaha!

Our package also covered a lounge access and their lounge was really impressive. I guess this should be the only THREE-storey lounge in Hong Kong. You could come here for tea, coffee, afternoon tea or drinks! A panorama view of the Harbour (from Central to Kowloon and then Island East) was guaranteed!

We also got a dinner at their renowned Dynasty, 滿福樓 and it was soooo good as always! Their CharSiu was one of a kind while other dishes were very flavourful with lovely details!

Check out my captures below for more!

Home to eight of Asia's best 50 bars and some of the world's best hotel brands, Hong Kong got some really cool hotel bars to be proud of. Here are 4 of my favourite hotel bars in Hong Kong with an incredible view. Have a check!

Ozone, Ritz Carlton Hong Kong

Also known as ‘the World’s highest bar’, Ozone of The Ritz-Carlton was literally ‘above and beyond’ the whole city. You could enjoy a sweeping view of both Kowloon side and the Hong Kong Island from a bird view angle. Compared to the other 3 bars from my list, the Ozone got the most playful vibes with cool music and innovative drinks. They were the most active in doing collabs with fashion brands!

Felix, Peninsula Hong Kong

As the one of the ‘OGs’ in the list, Felix of the Peninsula Hong Kong, got an unparalleled view of the Victoria Harbour from the Kowloon side. View from Felix was exactly what you would see from a postcard. I mean you had to give it to them- with nearly a century of history and pride, the hotel got a prime location with nothing to block their million dollar view. Drinks were decent but the whole experience was 'extra fine' with top notch services. It’s of a ‘Peninsula Standard’.

CAFÉ GRAY BAR, The Upper House

On the top floor of the highly acclaimed Upper House Hong Kong (also known as the Best Hotel of Hong Kong), the Café Grey Bar has been my go-to place for drinks. Drinks were creative yet not over the top. The interior was very polished with lovely details. Also, make sure you book in advance to get the window seat- their window seats were so well-designed and situated at the corner spots. You would feel like having an open yet private area all to yourself!

Popinjays, The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel

As a rather new hotel/bar/hotel bar in the scene, Popinjays from the Murray Hong Kong was a rooftop bar with breathtaking views. I particularly loved their outdoor terrace- views from here were postcard-worthy (almost the same as what you would see from the Peak, yet so much closer!) The ambiance was great too!

But honestly, all four bars were really good ones that I have been visiting again and again. Here are some of my random tips:

Felix: Perfect for proposal or special dates

(It’s THE Peninsula after all!)

Ozone: Friday night for some cool vibes and music

Café Gray Bar: Casual drinks with friends and colleagues

(Could be formal or casual so yessss this’s their charm!)

Popinjays: Romantic dates with a view

And some more fyr!
