Taipei is the city that I'm never getting enough of- there are soooooo many nice (and instagrammable) cafes in town and it's just around an hour flight away from Hong Kong. PLUS, the locals are SUPER KIND AND HOSPITABLE. Indeed, I'm here every year and could always find something new and nice. These are a few places (mainly cafes/restaurants) I visited during my last trip and I can't wait to share with you guys!
ACME Breakfast CLUB
(One of the most popular, instagrammable cafes in Taipei lately. Sorry that I forgot to shoot the food/drink, but I had a great time playing with the dogs- YESSSS it was a dog friendly cafe!!)
疍宅 Eg ghost - 搗蛋鬼工作室
(Their pastries were not bad and this matcha cake was their signature!)
All Day Roasting Company
(I LOVE the vibes and the coffee was nice tooooo!!)
Meat Up
(Get it for the grammmm!!)
COFFEE LOVER's PLANET
(They also got lovely souvenirs/coffee filter/beans etcetc!)
木白甜點咖啡店
(One of my absolute favourite pastry shops/cafes in town!!)
Afterhours Cafe
(Another of my favourite places and the pastries/vibes/everything was just perfect!)
雨田先生手沖飲品吧
(How cuteeeeeeeeeeee!! More importantly, the drinks were of a decent quality toooo!)
小美好-西門誠品店
(The bubble milk tea life chose me HAHAHA)
Letao 小樽洋菓子舖 松菸店
(My second visit and still LOVING it!!!)
YEN Taipei
(Nice Peking duck with local ingredients and a 10/10 view!!)
Not really a very comprehensive list but these were the where I visited last October. These were some of the latest, 'instagrammable cafes' in town. (As shallow as this may sound, I had SO MUCH fun snapping/exploring each of them HAHAHA) Still, let me know if I have missed any must-go places and hope you enjoy!

Also check the two hotels I stayed below :)

During my last visit to Taipei, I also stayed at the W Taipei. While I have visited W Hong Kong a few times before for drinks and food, this's my first stay at the W hotels. Located at the heart of Taipei- the vibrant Xinyi district, W Taipei is one embracing the cosmopolitan spirits. From its chic exterior to the friendly, energetic staff, the hotel truly lived up to its brand name and had impressed me with a 5-star experience.

My room was very spacious and got a wonderful lighting (thanks to the high windows). The gym was definitely not something you should miss- very well facilitated with brand new equipment and a nice sauna/relaxing area. It was soooo good that I'd love to be their member if I was local living/working nearby. The swimming pool was also really nice and you could always get drinks and snacks for a lovely sunbathing afternoon! Or just come for the happy hour and join their sunset party! See - W was the place where you could never get bored at!

I also managed to lunch at their Chinese restaurant- the YEN. Unlike other typical Chinese restaurants which usually go for a more humble/wooden/brownish tone, YEN was in a high profile purple-white mix, despite of serving some traditional yet REALLY DELICIOUS Chinese dishes. My favourite was the Peking Duck with local sauces/ingredients! The view from restaurant was also one of the best in town. Check it out when you visit! Their breakfast place- The Kitchen Table, an all-day dining buffet place was impressive with an array of Asian and Western selections too!

W Taipei was just THE whole package!

Thanks for the incredible experience! I definitely hope to be back!

Earlier in November, I had a weekend staycation at the stylish urban hotel- EAST, Hong Kong.

EAST, Hong Kong is the younger line of Swire Hotels. Conveniently located at Taikoo- one of the city's major business hubs at the Island side, the hotel is one with modern design and a chic attitude.

The room I stayed was of a stylish, contemporary design. I LOVE the floor-to-ceiling windows which showcased a captivating 'harbour plus city' view. Go for the upper floors I'd say- the feeling of staying 'above and beyond' was just amazing- you could feel how you are staying inside a concrete jungle (as surrounded by all the skyscrapers) yet above them all. Appreciating the 'hustle and bustle' of the outside while staying calm and peaceful inside!

The hotel was also well facilitated with a medium size gym and a swimming pool. I have also visited their restaurant FEAST for buffet and bar for afternoon tea/drinks for a few times before. EAST may not be the biggest hotel in town, yet it got everything you need.

My favourite part was still the night view- I mean it was no exaggeration that Hong Kong is called 'the sleepless city'. Look at this night view- how fascinating!! As a local, I do find it nice to spend your Christmas eve/Valentine's Day/Anniversary day or all kinds of romantic occasions with your loved ones here. For visitors (particularly the business travelers), EAST could also be a decent choice with great accessibility and convenience, on top of the spectacular view and nice service!
